Programs and Classes

As a part of our mission of interpretation and education, Norskedalen has a variety of programs and classes for all ages.

Always on a Sunday programs are one hour lecture-style presentations featuring a wide variety of topics, most related to nature, heritage or history, but also regional authors, informational presentations, etc. As you might expect, these programs take place almost every Sunday from February through December at 2 PM at the Thrune Visitors' Center. Norskedalen Nights take place on June 29th, July 27th, and August 24 at either the Thrune Visitors' Center or the Shelter. These family friendly programs feature exciting, interactive and hands-on activities for kids of all ages.

Heritage Classes are opportunities to take lessons from experts in Norwegian heritage, arts, historical and nature-related crafts and skills, as well as other unique learning opportunities. These classes require pre-registration at least two weeks prior to the class, pre-payment of fees and range from half-day classes to three-day classes.
