Special Events

Norskedalen hosts a variety of special events throughout the year. These events provide fun for all ages as well as raise important funds so that Norskedalen can pursue its mission of preservation and interpretation of the natural environment and cultural heritage of the region.

Unless otherwise noted, admission to these events is free for all members in the Friends of Norskedalen (with the exception of Ghoulees in the Coulees). All other visitors pay the usual daily admission fee of

  • $6 for Adults
  • $3 for Children (k-12th grade)
  • $15 for families (parents or grandparents and their children under 18).

  • Sweet, Sweet Spring - Saturday, March 6th
  • Norskedalen Rummage Sale - Saturday, March 13th (free)

April:

  • Norskedalen's Annual Award Banquet - Saturday, April 10th [Note: this event is open to the public but requires advance reservations from Norskedalen 608.452.3424]

May:

  • Bill Jamerson presents The Dollar-A-Day Boys -Friday, May 7th
  • Archaeology Day-Saturday, May 8th
  • Spring Stroll Historic Character Walk at Skumsrud Heritage Farm- Thursday, May 27th

June:

  • Midsummer Fest - Saturday and Sunday, June 19th & 20th.
  • Midsummer Bonfire-Wednesday, June 23. 

July: 

  • Art Fair at Skumsrud Heritage Farm- Saturday, July 3.

  • Civil War Heritage - Saturday and Sunday, October 9th & 10th
  • Ghoulees in the Coulees - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, October 27th, 28th and 29th. Hike start times from 5:30PM to 9PM- MUST HAVE PREPAID RESERVATION-Call Norskedalen!
