Nature Programs

It’s difficult to find a more ideal setting for nature-related programming than Norskedalen. This grand outdoor classroom offers 400 acres of varied habitat, ranging from wetlands to prairies to forests. There are established trails and areas where groups can easily gather to discuss their surroundings and the living things in them. The Thrune Visitors’ Center also provides an indoor option that is rich with preserved examples of native wildlife.

We are happy to provide environmental education programs for students of all ages and backgrounds. We also offer programming for groups such as 4-H clubs, Boy and Girl Scouts, and other organizations. Programs can be tailored to fit the needs of the groups. We will be sure to create a learning experience that matches the grade level, scheduling needs, and overall interests of the group involved.

Programming for adults is also offered through our Sometimes on a Sunday series. Topics will often focus on incorporating nature into our homes, making changes in our yards to help pollinators in wildlife, and incorporating more environmentally friendly choices in our daily routines. We are constantly developing new programming and obtaining new materials for educational purposes. Be sure to check our Facebook page for updates!
